DESCRIPTION
Each group was assigned to two body systems and had to build a model to show how the systems worked separately and how they worked together, then make a presentation to teach the class about its functions. My group's slideshow presentation and image of our model can be found below.

My group did our project on the respiratory and nervous systems. Our model was two marbles that went down a tube and then hit a bike pump, which then inflated a balloon. The marbles represented impulses sent by the brain and the clear tube represented the spinal cord. The bike pump represented the motor nerve, which receives the impulses and tells the lungs (the balloon) to breathe.

CONTENT
Nervous system- body system that sends messages to and from the brain to the body through the spinal cord, it consists of the brain, spinal cord, and sensory organs
Respiratory system- body system that controls gas exchange and consists of the trachea, lungs, diaphragm, etc
Neurons- carry impulses from the brain to the body
Motor nerves- receive impulses from different parts of the body
Sensory neurons- send impulses from body to brain in response to external or internal stimuli
Muscular system- for mobility, made up of smooth, skeletal, cardiac muscles that expand and contract
Digestive system- breaks down food, made up by mouth, esophagus, stomach, and acids
Excretory system- filters compounds from bloodstream and controls water levels in body, made up boo snack and large intestine
Endocrine system- secretes hormones and changes how proteins fold
Reproductive system- changes hormone levels, made up of uterus, eggs, fallopian tube
Skeletal system- supports body and protects internal organs
Circulatory system- transports oxygen, hormones, and blood cells, made up of heart, blood, and blood vessels
REFLECTION
When working in this group, I got off task easily and could have done a better job of focusing on the immediate task. At times when we should have been working, I was with another group. I also could work on empathy and be more supportive of my groupmates. For example, I could be more positive when making edits instead of finding the flaws in our work. I think we did a good job with time management, we finished and had extra time to make changes to our design. We had enough extra time to add color and cut off extended pieces of the board. We did a good job of collaborating, we rarely had conflict within our group. For example, when deciding on the different parts of the model, we had small disagreements regarding placement of the back stand but came to a compromise in the end. I learned to step back in leadership and that finding a mutual agreement is more important than being fixed on what you think is right.
I worked on this project with Adam Rosenbaum, Wilson Perry, and Rohan Ayyar.
