DESCRIPTION
For our final project in biology, groups had to choose a problem affecting the world and solve it using biotechnology. We had to identify different global issues, choose one, research it, and find possible solutions. My group researched global warming before developing a solution.

CONTENT
Biotechnology- the use of living systems and organisms to develop or make products
Global warming- a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants
Photosynthesis- the process by which green plants and some other organisms use sunlight to synthesize foods from carbon dioxide and water
Genetic modification- the direct manipulation of an organism's genes using biotechnology
Pollutant- a substance or energy introduced into the environment that has undesired effects
Carbon dioxide- a colorless, odorless gas produced by burning carbon and organic compounds and by respiration
Climate- the weather conditions prevailing in an area in general or over a long period
REFLECTION
For this project, I feel that I did well in collaborating with my group. Although I joined my group late, we worked together without conflict and did not need to waste time arguing on an issue to decide on. My group also did well in communicating. We could all contribute and built off of each other's ideas for solutions. One of my weaknesses in this project was my work ethic. I was absent from class for a large portion of this project, and had trouble focusing when I returned. I'd get distracted, leading to less productivity. At times when we were given class time to work, I wasn't with my group. Also, while my group as a whole got work done, we all could have done a better job of staying on task when working so as to increase productivity.
I worked on this project with Suyash Krishan, Gordy Brodeur, and Abby Bergerson.
