DESCRIPTION
Each student needed to research a jawless fish and update our field guide accordingly. The page should have three facts, the animal's common and scientific name, and its phylum. A drawing of the animal should be done using the grid technique and be properly scaled and labeled.
We also needed to create a new page on our website to highlight the new animal in our field guide.
CONTENT
I researched and drew a sea lamprey. It's scientific name is Petromyzontiformes.
Adults have a funnel-like mouth.
The sea lamprey is native to the northern Atlantic Ocean and Baltic, as well as the Mediterranean and Adriatic Seas.
They prey on large marine fish.
An image of the page in my field guide can be found below.
Animals in the phylum Chordata are bilateral and have reduced segmentation. Their skeleton is internal and they have a complete digestive tract. These animals have a simple nervous system and use their gills for respiration. They have notochords, gill slits, and a nerve chord. They are a food source for some animals and are grazers in their natural environment.

REFLECTION
I feel that we are used to the format of the field guide, so it wasn't too hard to complete the assignment. I finished on time and have gotten better at drawing using the grid technique. I could improve on adding details to drawings and improving on stippling so that more depth and shadows can be shown, letting the viewer get a better idea of what the animal looks like.
